Phased Planning
Phased planning is a distinct part of Mijksenaar’s approach to its projects. For the client, this means interim reports and an opportunity to modify the course of action.
If desired, the client can decide at the end of each phase whether or not to proceed with the project. This makes particular sense in the case of projects whose final realization is not established at the outset.
In principle, our method of phased planning is based on the following model, which can, of course, be adjusted to each individual situation.
Phase 1: Analysis and concept
Plan of action
Analysis
Wayfinding concept and sketches
Phase 2: Design
Inventory
Preliminary design
Definitive design
Phase 3: Realization

Teamwork
Mijksenaar has excellent contacts with various engineering firms and manufacturers. When working on projects abroad, the firm often collaborates with local design agencies, which develop and implement technical operations on site. This increases flexibility and reduces costs.
Working with architects is another of Mijksenaar’s priorities, as signage and architecture are inextricably linked.
Specialist partners
Mijksenaar sometimes calls in upon outside specialists (employed under contract) to carry out activities involving construction, lighting, traffic engineering, ergonomics, information technology, audiovisual technology, cartography, and the testing of information systems. This way the client benefits from specific knowledge and Mijksenaar can focus on the core competence: design.
